FURTHER EXPLANATION ON THE 6 OBJECTIVES 

  1. Providing psychoeducation and  mental health awareness. In the communities, there are negative attitudes and perceptions about mental illnesses as well as mental health illiteracy causing high late of stigma. Due to stigma and discrimination, many people suffer in silence and fail to reach their full potential or seek help. This program is aiming at creating, designing, establishing, and implementing various  mental health programs and activities for psychoeducation, and mental health awareness purposes.

 

  1. Community psychological and psychosocial support for the suitability of mental health and wellbeing of every individual in communities. Moreover, the objective helps the community to have access to safe, reliable, and quality mental health services especially teen mothers, students, youth, people with disabilities, abused women, girls and boys and other special groups as well as general population in Tanzania.

 

  1. Treatments and managements as of addressing mental illnesses and psychological challenges (mental and medical approach), through holistic mental health clinical and psychiatric services, screening, assessments and diagnosis, as well as providing psychotherapy, counselling and guidance. To ensure all communities are reached with timely and reliable services, MHTaims to improve mental health services at various levels and in different approaches such of this tele mental health approach. The objective of the tele-mental health services is to provide counselling, psychological support and psychosocial support in a confidential environment through online programs.

MHTis seriously advocating, promoting, and supporting various mental healthcare systems such as leadership, governance and accountability, mental health policies and ethics, mental health legislation and regulations, multidisciplinary practitioners, mental health investment, mental health access, mental insurance scheme, mental health data and service delivery in Tanzania.

 

  1. MHTaims at creating consultations, mentoring, training, and coaching programs for skills development to increasing knowledge, expertise and experiences on applied mental healthcare industry in Tanzania

 

  1. MHTis committed on conducting mental health research to becoming a leading centre of excellence in providing essential and up to date on mental healthcare resources in Tanzania
